I did so much research on this TV. I have never owned a Google TV. Not sure I’m thrilled with that part of it…At work, everything is Google and they still have a ways to go with the development of their absent products. I don’t know anyone who likes Google Mail as much as a product like office Outlook. So, having this TV be Google Centric, I just did not know what to expect.CON: You would think that a Google TV would cast really easily from a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone for that matter… And I have yet to get it to be able to cast. I was on the phone for a very long time with TCL support and we could not figure it out. I finally had to buy a wireless HDMI connector to be able to cast to this TV. It actually works really well and I will mention it right now: Elalight Wireless HDMI Transmitter and Receiver, HDMI Wireless Extender Kit. This extender kit is literally Plug and Play. When you look at it you won’t believe that it will even work and it works excellent! It occasionally has some interference hiccups, but overall it worked except for casting from a device to this Google TV.PROS: As far as the quality of picture and brightness and sound, it’s a great TV for the money! I really feel like I got an incredibly great deal for a TV this size and this bright and clear. As far as setting it up and getting it ready to use, super easy and basic. I think they did a great job on their home page except for the fact that I have used other TVs that have been easier to show the exact Channel and apps that you want in the order that you want. For me at least, I’ve had a hard time adding my favorite apps to homepage. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, but I am always having to go to the very top under apps to find what I want. They do have a section called your apps on the home screen and I was able to manage a few of my favorite apps on that part of the screen, it’s just not very intuitive. Having said that, I don’t use that many brands of TVs in my life, so this is probably not a big deal to most people.I think the hardest part about this industry is all of the various acronyms they use for all the different Technologies (LCD, LED, OLED, ULED, QLED, HD, FULL HD, 4K, 8K, UHD, SUHD, and more coming). I chose this one because it used a standard quality acronym (QLED) whereas some other brands have just made up their own quality acronyms. After so much research and spinning my wheels, I wanted to take advantage of the Black Friday deals and I feel like I got a REALLY good value for my money!Again, every TV has to fit your needs and this one is totally sufficient for me because at the end of the day I just want it to be bright, sharp, fast to navigate, and sound good! This TV delivers!!!

I recently purchased the TCL 55-Inch Q7 QLED 4K Smart Google TV and I have been blown away by its performance. This TV has exceeded all of my expectations and has become the centerpiece of my living room. The first thing that caught my attention was the stunning picture quality. The QLED technology provides vibrant and rich colors, making everything on the screen come to life. The 4K resolution is incredibly sharp and detailed, making it perfect for watching movies, TV shows, and sports. Even when viewing from different angles, the picture remains clear and consistent. The TV also comes equipped with Google TV, which has completely changed my viewing experience. It is incredibly user-friendly and allows me to easily access all of my favorite streaming services, such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. The voice control feature is a game-changer, as I can simply speak into the remote to search for my favorite shows and movies.Another great feature of this TV is the built-in Chromecast. This allows me to stream content from my phone or laptop directly to the TV, making it easy to share photos and videos with my family and friends. The design of the TCL Q7 is sleek and modern, with an ultra-thin bezel and a slim profile. It looks great in my living room and doesn’t take up too much space. The remote control is also well-designed and easy to use, with all the necessary buttons conveniently placed. One of the things I appreciate most about this TV is the price. For a 55-inch QLED 4K TV, the TCL Q7 is incredibly affordable compared to other brands on the market. I feel like I got great value for my money, especially considering all the features and performance it offers.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the TCL 55-Inch Q7 QLED 4K Smart Google TV. It has completely elevated my TV viewing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new TV.

I recently purchased the TCL 65Q750G 2023 model, and it’s been an absolute delight in my home entertainment setup. This TV ticks all the boxes for what I look for in a modern television – excellent picture quality, gaming features, and affordability. The QLED 4K display with Dolby Vision and HDR Ultra is a visual treat. The colors are vibrant, and the contrast is striking, making movie-watching and gaming sessions incredibly immersive. Whether streaming the latest shows or playing visually demanding games, this TV showcases content beautifully. As a gamer, the Game Accelerator feature up to 240Hz has been a game-changer. It minimizes input lag and enhances the overall gaming experience, making it a great choice for both casual and competitive gamers. Coupled with the smooth 120Hz refresh rate, it ensures that fast-paced action looks crisp and fluid. The integration of Dolby Atmos adds another layer to the viewing experience. The audio quality is rich and enveloping, bringing a cinematic feel right into the living room. It’s especially noticeable when watching movies or shows with high-quality soundtracks.Using the TV is a breeze with the Smart Google TV interface. The voice remote makes navigation and content search easy and intuitive. I love how it integrates with other smart home devices and allows for seamless control.I did encounter an issue with a defective panel initially, but Amazon’s customer service was top-notch. The return process was straightforward, and I quickly received a replacement that works flawlessly. This experience reinforced my confidence in both TCL’s product quality and Amazon’s customer service. In terms of value for money, this TV is a standout. It offers high-end features at a price point that doesn’t break the bank, making it accessible to a wide range of customers.Overall, the TCL 65-Inch Q7 QLED 4K Smart Google TV is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment system. It combines stunning visuals, advanced gaming features, and a user-friendly interface with great value, making it a purchase you won’t regret.

I bought this to replace a Samsung that is only a few years old. There’s nothing wrong with the Samsung per se. Except that Samsung is now putting a proprietary BT codec in its tvs so it won’t pair with a majority of BT headphones (I had one old pair that was able to connect easily but they were falling apart and badly needed replaced- I’ve bought and returned 7 different headphones from various brands and manufacturers and Samsung tv would pair with none of them; but they each connected to my galaxy phone…). I won’t go into all of that but once i figured out the tv was the problem it had to go (perhaps the higher tier models over $1k are different but I’m not spending $1k on a tv). This tv has met or exceeded expectations so far. I thought my other tv was nice enough, granted it was a low tier model and unbeknownst to me had consistently gotten poor reviews on tech websites; so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at how good the picture and native audio are for this one after doing some research before buying. All I can say is, read reviews on actual tech review websites, just Google it and pick 3-4 out of the results list and you’ll know exactly what you’re getting- a lot of people don’t do this, they base their decision solely on reviews on here. But if I’m dropping more than $100 on something, I want to know I want what I’m getting. So to summarize:Picture is clear, vibrant, and crisp with good contrast, and among the best you can find for this price range. The only other tv that compared was the Hisense series of the same price tier. But the viewing angle is much narrower than on this TCL series, meaning if you’re sitting off center at all or viewing from an angle, the picture will lose a lot of detail.I am sensitive to bright light so I think the tv is more than bright enough (regarding backlighting) and don’t even have the brightness turned all the way up but apparently if it isn’t radiating light like a halo around the tv, it isn’t bright enough for most people (hence the 4/5 picture rating- as far as i personally am concerned, the picture is 5 star quality for this price tier); this tv is not as bright as the Hisense series and certainly not as bright as higher end tvs. Color range and contrast do need to be tweaked a bit in the settings to really bring out the best but I feel that way about every smart tv I’ve had. No matter how good the native settings are, you can always get a better picture by playing around with the settings and seeing what you prefer.Visually this tv is great for gaming and movies/tv.Audio: not only does this tv pair effortlessly with BT headphones/devices, unlike my old tv, the speakers are pretty nice. Several audio profiles for different purposes- I’m happy with Standard with the volume leveling enabled. Volume leveling still allows you to hear a wide range of tones without making it sound flat or unnatural. Sound in general is much clearer than on my old tv. I’m not saying it will satisfy audiophiles (on the other hand I’m not sure any tv’s native speakers would) but as an entertainment hub it’s pretty nice. The only thing I don’t like… is Google tv. I don’t particularly like that by using this tv I’m allowing Google to collect, utilize, and sell info regarding viewing content and approximate location. I dislike that you can’t even log into the YouTube app without setting up Google tv- if these 2 things were separated then I wouldn’t complain but it effectively forces you to activate Google tv service- which is not useful to me as I don’t have smart home devices so there is nothing to manage. It’s just a way for Google to collect even more information about you and since it’s a useless service for me, it feels slightly extortionist- I’m just a very private person and if i could install a vpn onto this tv i absolutely would. But between Google, Amazon, and Samsung/Apple tv, it seems to be an unavoidable thing at this point so I’ve just accepted that’s how it is (but it doesn’t mean I like it). I’m sure if you have more than 1 smart device in your home, you will probably disagree with me about its usefulness lol. That’s fine, everything isn’t for everyone. Also not a fan of the remote but that’s just personal preferences, there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s easy to use.All in all 4/5 stars. Very easy to set up if a bit time consuming (because I’m picky with my settings so it’s always time consuming for me to set up a new tv), great picture and native speakers. That said, it’s not perfect (it is not nearly expensive enough to demand perfection either) but i am very happy with it. Solid mid tier affordable tv, with some unnecessary features on it imo but nothing that hinders its performance. Money well spent.

There’s not as many professional reviews out there on this one as compared to the older 5 and 6 series TCL TVs, which are rated really well by the sites out there that do reviews. But they are getting harder to find and since they are scarcer than the current 2023 production models, the prices are high. When the current 2023 models had a discount for the first time we decided to take a closer look. The QM7 is about the least expensive native 120hz panel with local dimming that’s out there right now, so for us it was worth a look.We saw the QM7 TV in person at a local B&M retailer before purchasing in on Amazon. The B&M retailer had it on a TCL specific showcase display with both QM6 and QM7 TVs running content that really highlighted the TV’s performance. I can tell you that the QM7 is definitely worth the extra cost over the QM6. The price for the QM7 75″ was the same both places, on sale roughly 30% off list MSRP which may be more or less the normal price from this point out since the newer models have been out a few months now. Amazon’s shipping was faster as the B&M did not have the 75 inch in stock, so that took the cake for buying it from Amazon. One of the reasons we chose this TV besides the picture was the minimalist bezel, it is silver on the outside but it is barely noticeable when you’re looking at the TV. We had previously considered an Amazon Omni-QLED 75″ TV, but upon seeing it at the aforementioned B&M retailer on a prior visit, it had a large silver bezel that is super noticable as compared to the TCLs. That was not wife acceptable, and as we all know, happy wife equals happy wife.I chose the delivery and unpack in the room of my choice and the service was great, really nice folks, they unpacked it, put the feet on, and stood it up on my TV stand. Suprisingly the somewhat stocky woman of the unpack duo hoisted the TV on her shoulder and carried it by herself from the truck outside into the house and to our living room. She didn’t struggle at all to do it either and the TV never looked like it was going to fall off her shoulders. As for the TV itself I’m pretty happy with it so far. It’s our first time with the Google TV interface and it’s very responsive. I was a little apprehensive about bringing yet a third smart TV platform into the house, but, the Google interface is really easy to use. The menu setup is somewhat similar to the FireSticks where recently used apps are in a horizontal row near the top, so I don’t think it will take the others in the household long to adapt. We are also heavy Google users anyway and have multiple Google smart speakers around the house, so I really think this is a better fit for us long term than Roku or FireStick. The TCL remote also has Google Assistant buttons on it and I think we will use those. Some folks said the setup took a long time but I really didn’t think so. I was initially unable to sign in from my phone through the Google Home app so I just skipped that step, it allows you to set up from your phone or set up using your remote. The TV asked for a software update so I did that and then the reboot took about 5-10 minutes and then it didn’t ask for any further updates. It also asked me what apps that I used so I chose all those and it installed them automatically. After the update it asked me to sign in directly to Google so I did that instead of trying to pair it with my phone and it worked this time. The picture quality is excellent, although like any TV it’s somewhat source dependent on how good the picture is. If you give it content that lets it shine, it will wow you. For example, the LG OLED store demo loop is on YouTube at 4Kp60 with HDR 10 and it looks awesome on this TV. I am super impressed with the lack of motion lag as well, watching some sporting events. This TV upscales SD content better than other TCL TV’s I’ve had in the past, although if you’re some kind of upscaling purist you might think it’s not quite enough. It’s perfectly fine for my needs. I purposefully avoid trying to watching SD content in the first place, if I can avoid it. When I buy a TV, the overall performance with the very best content is my first consideration, ie, 4K HDR content. Everything else is secondary or tertiary.I have not calibrated it yet and I’m hoping that there are more review sites out there soon that have this TV along with their recommended calibration settings. Out of the box it’s pretty good, the colors are vivid, but not oversaturated like on many Samsungs. (if you want something that looks like a Samsung, buy a Samsung, I think it makes things look cartoonish, but anyway) It has some kind of AI picture mode chooser and I can see that it’s already choosing different than I would choose, like for example it chose something that looked like a movie mode when I was watching one of those David Attenborough documentaries on Netflix. I would not have chosen a movie mode for a wildlife documentary, but anyway. I think I will probably disable this setting and calibrate it more to my liking as I get more time with it.Since reviewers have dinged it on it’s brightness compared to the older TCL 6-series, I can say that I have it in a room that’s pretty bright with 6 windows and it doesn’t have a problem overcoming reflections and so forth. I have it right between two 3×5 windows and it’s plenty bright enough, I’m not seeing any reflections. To step up with something with a lot more brightness like a Samsung Neo-QLED would cost a LOT more. Some sites say the Hisense U8H is the best choice in this price range for brightness based on what’s currently out there and easily obtainable, but that set in a 75″ was 25% more money than this one and I was not able to see it anywhere locally with decent content on it. The B&M store I visited had some Hisense models on display but they were only showing low resolution store ads on them. The WiFi performance seems excellent with this set, looking at the “Stats for Nerds” feature on YouTube I was seeing up to 115Mpbs throughput on 4Kp60 videos. I do have a business class WiFi network using Ubiquiti ceiling mounted access points but even so it seems really fast to load streaming videos and so forth compared to my other TVs and sticks.I tried out the “TCL Channel” which is a list of IPTV channels similar to the Roku Channel and IPTV functionality that other platforms have as well, my LG upstairs has an IPTV app as well but I don’t remember what they call it. I like the TCL Channel app better than the Roku Channel and the equivalent LG app as they have things sorted by category which makes it easier to find the content you are looking for. The TCL channel app is also a little more intuitative than the others, I was able to pick it how it worked in about 15 seconds and find some interesting channels more quickly than on the others. The category list on the far left really helps with this.Anyway, pretty happy with this TV, it’s a solid value at the price point. I think most people would be happy with it. If money is no object and you want a TV that is bright as the light from a thousand suns, buy a Samsung Q90C. If money is no object and you watch movies in pitch black rooms all day long, get an LG G3 OLED. Otherwise, for the rest of us, this is a great TV with a great picture at a good price. Will update with my experiences, I’ve only just got this TV recently.

I’ve had this tv not 24 hours yet and it simply cannot play any games at a stable rate. I’ve tried on both an xbox series x and a ps5. Let’s start with the Xbox.I have uploaded a video showing the flickering that occurs on a series x. I’ve tried multiple settings between the TV and the console and the only way it seens to be at all stable is with HDR off and Variable refresh rate off. Mind you, those are both settings that should be on while playing for the best experience Even with those settings off, it will sometimes completely lose signal for a moment. As for the PS5, its basically will not keep a solid signal. It will flicker off and back on in as little as 30 seconds and simply continue to do so. I’ve also tried multiple setting configurations between thr TV and ps5. I’m using hdmi 2.1 cables that have worked on every tv I’ved used the consoles with, but have bought new ones to test just in case. This is the first TV I’ve come across to have these specific issues. Even The 55inch Amazon fire TV could handle HDR without issue. As far as for watching movies, TV shows and YouTube, it seems to do that just fine. If you don’t like the artificial looking “soup opera effect”, I recommend turning off motion blur. Mind you, It is better than the Amazon Fire 55inch in respect to overall video quality. The UI is very responsive, the internal speakers are decent and get reasonably loud. The local dimming isn’t the best, but by far not the worst I’ve seen. I haven’t experienced any backlight bleed either. If you do not game at all, I imagine you’d really enjoy this TV.(Update 3/8/24 12:15pm)I’ve spoken to TCL twice and followed their technical support steps and was unable to correct all the issues. They know these issues exist and they are working on a possible solution, but cannot guarantee it will be fixed within the warranty period.

This is a great TV!! I was debating between this Q7 and the previous top-of-the-line 6-series. I’m pleased I went with the Q7. Although the Q7 does not have mini LEDs like the last 6-series or the current QM8, the Q7 still achieves impressive contrast! This is thanks to its 200 local dimming zones. Brightness is impressive (rated at 1,000 nits per TCL) and it really shows it off when watching HDR content. We’ve had the TV for just a few days, and have enjoyed some content to appreciate the performance of this TV. Here are some thoughts. What we LOVE:+ Amazing Contrast!+ Deep Blacks+ Colors look accurate. (I’m not a color expert)+ Impressive HDR Brightness. This is best enjoyed at night, or in a dark room. Watching scenes where there is fire, or anything bright, the brightness of this makes you feel like the fire is right inside your living room! and it only brightens up the item on the screen! It makes for an immersive experience)+ Remote: the remote is sleek, feels solid, and lights up. Also, it is a Bluetooth remote, so you don’t need to point it to the TV for it to work.+ PS5 Gaming: Graphics settings on the PS5 can be maxed to 120Hz with VRR, etc. and the TV performs smoothly!+Bluetooth Connectivity for Sound: I like that the TV is capable of connecting to a Bluetooth speaker. This has come in handy for connecting the TV to my partybox. :)Things that are MEH:- Speakers. The TV performs in the ranks of premium TVs, however, the sound is lacking IMO. It’s not terrible, but it isn’t good either.- GoogleTV takes time to get used to. Not in love with it, yet.- TV automatically switches picture settings when watching content mastered in ‘Dolby Vision, HDR, Etc.’. When the TV makes this automatic switch, the picture settings get locked. At least I haven’t figured out how to change the color/contrast during this mode. This is a bit disappointing because some of these modes look a bit dull at first.- Watching 4K content on the native YouTube app freezes up the picture on the TV. I imagine this is a bug, and hopefully, fixed soon. Thankfully you can exit the screen with the remote. This is a great living room TV. The sound is a bit lacking for the caliber of TV this is, but you have options to resolve this, and multiple ways to achieve it (eARC, Optical, Bluetooth, 3.5mm). This TV is ideal for anyone looking for a high-performing TV with the best bang for your buck without the price tag of an OLED TV.Update: after about 4 months of ownership, I still love the TV! The youtube glitch I mentioned did get resolved with a software update. My stand on the subpar sound quality still stands. My only new finding is that some of the remote buttons are starting to fade off. Because of the backlit on the remote, at night it makes for a poor look as light shines all over the button, not just the labels for the button. Would I still recommend the TV? Yes!

We moved to a new place and money are tight. We never owned a tv, used to watch everything from computer screens. Now we had a formal living room and were ready for movie nights. I was combing through reviews, Reddit and went to bestbuy and Costco to see tvs in person. I set my mind on Sony Bravia, but just couldn’t pull the trigger, $1500 for 48’ was just a lot of money for us. At last I realized we should settle for something cheaper. We went online one more time and found review for this tv. Under $400 for ‘55, we were like – f it, let’s buy. I’m so happy we did. It’s an amazing tv. 120 hrz, beautiful picture, sound. What a pleasure to watch movies. I’m sure there are bunch of people who would find tiny itsy bitsy problems or say oled would be superior. Maybe, but I do not see or feel the difference. Not missing anything. TV is great, we are watching shows and movies and saved so much money. It’s a win!

I am in love with this TV. I upgraded from a 50-inch 1080p TV after having used Retina display Macs for years and you can easily tell the difference with the move to 4K. I remember what an upgrade 1080p was from 540p and 720p and the leap to 4K is no different and perhaps even more impressive. The TV is by no means the brightest in the market but it is compatible with the Dolby Vision output from my Apple TV 4K and it is plenty bright for me. The upgrade here, too, is amazing. I highly suggest playing around in the display settings where you can find presets for many different types of watching or you can mess around and use your own settings. One feature which people love or hate is motion smoothing. You can disable it in the display settings for most content types and connections, but you might want to try it for a while. I’m not sure if it’s a problem of the TVs algorithms or something else, but you can see the motion smoothed picture for a while and then it will stutter back to the original frame rate for a second. Perhaps the TV can’t keep up or it can’t see far enough ahead in the content to smooth smoothly, but it is noticeable. However, the effect of motion smoothing is really cool. Apparently, the best trained eyes can see at about 300 frames per second, and TV content is usually displayed at 29.97 frames per second. The motion smoothing turns that 29.97fps into 120fps (the native refresh rate of the TV) and it looks surreal. It definitely looks more like real life, but the effect can be jarring if you’ve been used to watching lower-fps content. On a side note, video games played through the TV like from the Xbox Series X can also be played at 120fps because the TV is capable of displaying it and it looks really cool. Only the latest console generation is capable of this, though. The speakers are quite good but I rarely use them, instead opting for a HomePod connected wirelessly to my Apple TV 4K. The remote is really nice and backlit, though it would have been nice if it were rechargeable instead of taking AAA batteries. I never use the Google TV functionality, but it’s there if you want major companies banking on your viewing and usage habits. Most streaming devices have the functionality built-in anyway, and I do recommend the Apple TV 4K with an Anker HDMI 2.1 cable for watching things. The two pair very well together.Overall I’m extremely satisfied with the TV. Amazon delivery worked out great, too. Two delivery people brought it in a big truck and carried it right up to my apartment door up a flight of stairs. It was a great service and the delivery people were very nice and did a great job. I only paid $620 for the TV before tax and delivery was $20 more. I think I got a great deal and think you’ll be satisfied with this TV at that price point. Good luck!

I bought this TV last week not knowing if it was going to meet my standards. I’m someone that never plays on TVs always been a PC setup guy with 240hz Monitors with 1ms response. Playing on any thing that’s not in that realm always makes my experiences terrible and lack luster. Until….. I bought this. Upon connecting my PS5 in hopes to play some crisp COD. I got more than I could as for. There is a feature that allows Variable refresh rate and Allm. These settings make it so that you have the shortest hardware response time possible for consoles. The colors on this tv are amazing. From the HDR to the Controller and navigating through the settings has all been a great and user friendly experience. only thing I would have to say is I didn’t like it the Adaptive brightness. This settings is hard to find to turn off but once I did I was so happy. All and all this Tv is awesome and for the price i think its the best bang for you buck if you love to Game. Well done TCL
